Day Two Hundred Eight

Whoa, Wait, Where, Wonder

No doubt it's because she's a girl, but Boo! has assimilated herself into the household way faster than any of the guys who arrived before her. It's either because they don't see her as a threat or that she has made it clear she will scream bloody murder and kick some ass if she is threatened. I find it hilarious. She is the size of a large hamster with long legs, but she has the heart of a lion.

Lesson to be learned: No matter how small you are, or powerless you think you are, enter a room or situation as though you're a Ninja. It will throw everybody else off base. It doesn't hurt to be smarter, too.

Boo! definitely is drawn to Andy. Why am I not surprised. I mean, Rooney definitely prefers him. Shoot! She'd push me in front of a moving car to save him! That little Boo! thinks he's cool is something I just have to get used to. The thing is, he hasn't gotten used to Boo! yet. She pops up out of nowhere when you least expect it. His startle reflex is getting a workout.

Heavy sigh. It finally happened. It took her three days to notice the cat door. I was hoping she wouldn't see it for awhile. But she doesn't miss a trick. Boo! was strolling into the kitchen when she saw Dash up on the window ledge going through the door. She stopped in her tracks like, "Whoa! Wait! Where's he going? I wonder if I can do that, too?" Come to think of it, that sums up her whole persona: Whoa, Wait, Where and Wonder.

Whoa: Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. It might kill me.

Wait: I will just sit here and stare at it until I figure it out if it is gonna kill me.

Where: I need a place to hide in case it decides to kill me.

Wonder: There are so many things to see and do here. I think I might like it.

Meanwhile, Jack and Rooney have adjusted to her presence much faster than with the other cats, especially Dash. It took awhile but Jack has finally gotten used to him, as in he doesn't glare at him, and he even lets Dash head-butt him. Once Dash conquered the mighty giant, he pretty much figured he was invincible. Then we threw him a curve by bringing in a spunky little sister. What's a guy to do?

I just realized I completely forgot to mention how Boo! got her name! The breeders love all things Disney. So much so they name their litters after Disney movie characters. For example, Dash's littermates were named after the movie, "The Jungle Book." There was King Louie, Bagheera and Mowgli. Dash was named King Louie; a name I do not care for. But I wanted him more than I disliked his name and I just changed it to Dashing Aramis. Dash fits him perfectly.

Boo! and her brother, Sully, were named after the characters in "Monsters Inc." When it was thought Boo! was a guy, her name was Mike. As soon as the vet determined she was not a guy, her name was changed to Boo! If you recall the little girl from the movie, our little girl has been aptly named. That and we learned we were getting her around Halloween which made it a perfect name for her.
