It was quite a weekend. There was so much activity, I honestly had a hard time concentrating enough to write. At one point on Saturday morning, I just closed my laptop and gave up trying. My granddaughter was pleased because, according to her, I am "too focused" when I'm writing. In other words, I was not focused on her!
Not a fan. Much more interested in cat toys than cats. |
As I've written in other posts, Boo! just took over the house from the get-go. She has let everybody know she is not to be messed with. What I didn't anticipate was Dash's immediate fascination with her. I know he knows she is an Aby. He also knows she is a little girl and his protective mechanism kicked in full force. He follows her everywhere and keeps the other guys at bay. Well, Boo! does a very good job on her own of letting everybody know to back off.
There are definitely differences between Dash and his little sister. When Dash first came here, he would jump into my arms in the morning and when he hadn't seen me for awhile. Boo! is more aloof. As I also should have anticipated, Boo! is drawn to Andy. She sat on the arm of the couch several times last night staring at him. And fast! I thought Dash was a speed demon but his little sister moves so fast you can barely focus on her! She looks like she's gliding on an invisible track.
Another major difference between the two - Dash was intrepid when it came to getting everybody to like him, especially Jack. Boo! took one look at Jack and Rooney and decided they are to be avoided at all cost. She couldn't care less if Jack likes her or not - she's staying away from the big, scary monster. The back of the couch has become her safe haven. Dash was a little put out she commandeered his spot. Boo! doesn't care one bit. The inside of the couch is now her domain.
I was here first! |
It's hard to believe something so tiny could rule a household - but she is and does. Abys definitely rule!
