My spider has been relocated. Andy and I were having breakfast the other morning and, out of the blue, he declared he had moved my spider. I was surprised at my surprise. I mean, that was nice and all, but I never got a chance to say goodbye. I was bummed but grateful. He said he read my blog and moved it to the wall.
Now, I'm guessing there are skeptics out there thinking, "Yea, right. He 'moved' her spider. Better check the bottom of his shoe!" I admit, that thought crossed my mind. But Andy knows if I found out there would be hell to pay. Maybe I'll go check out the wall today. Spidey may have become lunch for a bird or a lizard...
I had to get up in the middle of the night because my arm was hurting me. I tried to get on the computer, but Dash was insistent I pay attention to him. I carried him into the front bedroom with me. As we passed the family room, I saw Fancy curled up on my chair and Eli on the couch. I laid down on the spare bed and Dash curled up next to me. He was so sweet all snug and cozy. At one point he chased somebody else off the bed. Most likely it was Chance.
Anyway, we both fell asleep that way until dawn. I woke up with a start; worried I had left my purse unzipped on the floor in the bedroom. When the Frenchies were with us, an unattended purse was an invitation to rummage through it for edibles. I knew Rooney might try it, and I also knew I had gum in there which contains Xylitol - very toxic to dogs. I tried to slip in as quietly as possible, and when I checked my purse, it was zipped and untouched. Whew. I could hear Dash outside the door protesting the loss of his bed partner.
The rest of our kitchen chairs arrived yesterday and they required a bit more assembly than the two bar stools. Dash has designated himself work supervisor. He makes sure every bolt is tightened, every tool is okay and the finished product is up to code.
Nobody else cares about this as much as Dash. Fancy stays perched on high; observing. Finn, Chance and Eli think the boxes are way more interesting than power tools and an occasional expletive emitted from Dad. Dash thinks it's all fascinating.
I fail to see the big deal here... |
Wow! this is the best present ever! A big box came just for us! |
Of course, anything new must be thoroughly examined once it's put in place. I'm sure they were wondering what happened to the old leather "scratching posts" - and how they can turn these seemingly indestructible chairs into decent substitutes.
