Day Seventy Nine

Pancakes and Republicans!

The grands spent the night. That means blueberry pancakes for breakfast! Jack and Rooney know this to be true. They wait patiently for our granddaughter to get the first two that come off the griddle. Then they have to wait some more for theirs to cool off. Jack drools and Rooney just sits there, looking back and forth from the plate to us. If we get distracted, they make sure we get back on task by sort of corralling us back to the counter where their pancake is calling to them. I'm not sure what they get out of this since they swallow the pieces whole. But it's very important. Properly motivated, I'm sure we could get a dog to do just about anything! Maybe even run for president as a Republican.

If you think about it, dogs would most likely be Republicans. First of all, they don't like it when people cross their "borders!" The Alpha Dog usually gets the meat first. Like Republicans, dogs have a very strict sense of what's right - in their minds. Jack's philosophy is: What's mine is mine; what's yours is mine.

I am joking, of course, and will have to explore my theory further since there is no way on Earth I can concentrate now. Grandson, "Gigi! Dash wants to play in the toilet!!" Granddaughter, "Gigi, does my top look better buttoned or unbuttoned?" Gigi, "?????"

In a little while, there will be two more little people plus a few bigger ones. I'm excited. But first, we have to make a Toys-R-Us run to get a Legos Ninjago Air something or other...

P.S. Pretty sure cats would be Libertarians.
