Day One Hundred Forty Eight

Odds and Ends

This has been a strange morning so far. When I put the dogs out, I encountered a few creatures that drew my attention. First of all, this spider caught my eye. I also think it is the one that fell from the porch ceiling and landed on my arm yesterday, scaring the crap out of me. If you enlarge it, the pattern on it is interesting. If anyone can identify it, please tell me what it is. Unless it's poisonous. Then just let me live in my Fool's Paradise.

This is one of the baby lizards I try so hard to save from the cats

This little guy was a surprise. I think he ate the other baby lizard...

The cats were in rare form this morning. This is the second day in a row they have been acting jittery. I had my hand on the door knob to let the dogs in, when I saw through the glass four of the five - all but Fancy - scare each other senseless. They were all alone in the family room, and there was nothing going on. All of a sudden, they started jumping straight up in the air like they were on a manic trampoline! The more they jumped, the more they scared each other. It was like they all got on the crazy train at once. Eventually, they all scattered in different directions like they were being chased by demons.

Then, as I was passing Fancy, who was calmly sitting on the counter, I went to pet him and the poor guy about had a heart attack! He jumped and almost fell off the counter. His eyes were wide and he looked at me as much to say, "What the hell!! You about scared me to death! You need to wear a bell..." Sorry...

Don't ask me. I may be able to (sometimes) read their thoughts, I just cannot diagnose crazy. I may be an amateur animal communicator, but I am definitely not an animal shrink.

I like this box. Do I look good in it?

Why are you sitting in that little box?

Mom. Can I have a box, too?

Don't look at me - you're the one who likes cats.

All is right in Rooney World. Dad has returned.
Toys not required.
