Day One Hundred Forty Seven

This and That

Okay, so this was really cute. I didn't see any lizards on the porch, and the cats have been wanting to go out, so I just let everybody go. Finn was so excited, he actually skipped and jumped like a little kid being let out for recess! You would have to know Finn to understand how uncharacteristic that is for my angel. He is typically reserved and unassuming. It made me happy to see him so animated.  Even Dash couldn't believe his good fortune! There are so many things to see out there!

Periodically, they come in to check on me. Well, they're probably checking to see if I've put anything good in their (now empty) breakfast bowls. Fancy is always the first to come see me; followed by Eli. I'm pretty sure Eli wants to see if I'm giving Fancy extra attention...

Had a wonderful phone visit with Dash's first human mom last night. She is such a dear person, and she likes to check up on her "babies." It's fun to talk with her because, as an Aby person, she gets it. I also like to learn that things he does must be in his genes. Like looking into my eyes and putting his paw on my face. And his habit of running to the fridge when he hears the ice maker, hoping I'll toss him an ice cube so he can play "ice hockey."

I also found out why he has a fascination with my potted palms. I guess in his first home there were several which he and his two brothers messed with. I think he also misses the magnificent tree structure she has for them. It has hidden passages and all sorts of fun stuff to explore. I kind of feel a kinship - like two moms with "active" kids who exchange information! She has two kittens now and I so want one - Dash needs a playmate equal to the task. Don't think that's gonna happen...

On my Xmas list!
Unless all my creatures sensed the underwater earthquake near Chile yesterday, nothing noteworthy occurred here to explain their mania in the morning. I guess it was just one of those days. It sure made the evening quiet as everyone was fast asleep. Poor Rooney misses her dad (who's been gone awhile) so much she carried toys in her mouth all day. My house looks like FAO Schwarz threw up in it.

When is Daddy coming home?

I think Jack needs glasses. He was all puffed up and woofing at something outside. I figured it must be the kid walking his Chihuahua past the house.  When I looked, the only thing out there was the trash can. I praised him for taking such good care of me. We'll be in good hands if ever there is an invasion of mutant waste disposal bins. Hey, it could happen...
